wasteland, baby!
soft touches on the countryside
paints the whole sky blue, when it's all i could see
all i could feel
nothing ever leave a trace on this harsh skin, not even your touch
but i could see it
i could feel it
and out of my will and awareness, that's all i could feel
in the midst of a sinner's hopeless prayer
a small sigh and your name comes out of my breathless lips
wishing, hoping, begging
mouthing the words you should've said, directly to the creator
because that's all that i ever wanted
you're all i wanted to feel, to see
the sun, the shade of the cross,
the overgrown grass, the screams of fun whispers you sweet mornings
you lay down on her thigh now, thinking this is the closest you could be to heaven
looking at my eyes, you sighed hard, harder
realizing it's already happening
there's nothing stopping you, yet you hesitate
now, with teenagers laugh and tears right at this summer,
when the whole world turns dimmer, the sky's still blue
however your heart won't turn back
knowing you're all i could feel
all i could see
i don't have the choice to walk away, neither do you
but you hestitate
as you smoke away the unsaid promises.
