a warrior’s field

if it’s okay with you,
can you pick up the call?
even though the night's getting late,
and the air is getting colder,

but can you pick up the phone?

nothing said should be fine by me,

just let me say a short hello,

breaking the barriers in between,

if i ring your phone one more time,

would you please pick it up?

a crumble of comfort would be nice,

and go kiss my tears away about it,

i’m sorry if i’m asking too much,

or if i’m doing too much,

and if i care and bothers you too much,

at least can you pick up the phone?

but it won’t matter to you if you pick it up or not anyway,

there’s no closure you could provide,

and you’re fine with it,

as easy as how you breathe,

go along with your life as it is,

yet i hope it bothers you even just a bit,

don't worry, i’ll still hang around,

with my phone in my hand,

if it's okay with you,

if it's okay with you.

written for a dear friend of mine on july 21st 24,

keep being a good person, i hope you do.
