1: denial

the snickers from the baristas while they're dancing around

with the upbeat song coming out of their phone speaker 

the pilled empty cup of coffee

with the stupid, random arguments between best friends in their 20s

the quiet, yet not awkward table

with the couple studying together in silence

the immensely intense craving for human interaction

and the delicate but wavering sense of loneliness

the girl that was and always had been fine being alone

and the denial of needing 

another person's cracked honey lotus laugh 

where it's unknown to be found
